Human in my Bed (2016, Project Space)
"Poetry is dead! Photography is dead! Nothingness, absence, emptiness, silence. How would you fill this void? Where do you find meaning and the answer to the questions which were never asked? Can poetry portray image and are there poetics left in photographs? This collaboration brings together a writer and an artist that are interested in exploring the relationship between photography and poetry, bringing to light the theatricality of existence." In this collaboration, Mart-Matteus Kampus and Alina Senchenko depict the simplicity of their chosen mediums through their strengths and failures. By combining photography with poetry, they fill the bareness of these forms visually. The poetry, written on different found materials, represents the passage of time and consequential loss of meaning. The photographs reveal the realities, momentums which have been lost.
